Wallpaper*’s Design Top 100

In the new Wallpaper*: the people that refine you. Wallpaper* publishes its Design Top 100.

Authority and influence. Rank and standing. Cash and credibility. Wallpaper* gets a measure of the hard currency and the soft power of the 2014 global design elite. An inaugural ranking of design’s major players, in which the magazine considers a number of factors: quality and consistency of output, influence, market value and earning power.

France is present with 19,5 designers (the half signifies one of a duo), Italy has 19 designers in the top 100, Britain is good for 15.5 designers and from The Netherlands 10 design pro’s were chosen.

The top 3 of most influential designers? Nr 3 is London-based Thomas Heatherwick, who recently had a solo retrospective at the V&A, nr 2 is Dutch designer Hella Jongerius, whose design now skyrockets at auctions and nr 1 is the mysterious Jonathan Ive, British designer that works for the world’s most desired company: Apple. That is all we tell you – the rest you can read for yourself:
