Apartamento interviews Wes Anderson
The new Apartamento is out. With an interview with ‘homme d’interieur’ director Wes Anderson.
The Barcelona-based everyday life interiors magazine meets the famed director in Paris, in an office that could be a living room. Anderson is an interiors addict with a clear understanding of Europe, as is clear from his last (very well perceived) movie he Grand Budapest Hotel. In nearly 30 pages he tells about his sources of inspiration, the techniques that are used to create his movies, his love of miniatures and The Fantastic Mr. Fox. The article is richly illustrated with drawings, scene stills, snap shots and behind the scene photo’s. Very nice, a must for fans.
And there is a lot more. Apartamento visits people, and their homes. Joel Chen in LA, antiques dealer. Anissa Helou, author of cook books. Artist Jack Pierson. The Girards, family of designer Sandro Girard. Fabulous Fabiola Alondra, bookshop owner. And many more.
Again an Apartamento as we like it. Issue 13 is entertaining, wise, well-informed and curious.
