Bunpei Yorifuji in AXIS
In AXIS designer Bunpei Yorifuji, famed for his educational posters for the Tokyo Underground.
Tokyo Metro (東京メトロ) has tried to educate its costumers over the past years. Passengers were asked to behave politely – or else go home. Since September 1974, every year has a new theme and unique monthly designs have been produced, but in recent years perhaps none were more memorable than the iconic illustrations of graphic artist Bunpei Yorifuji. His designs were a huge success, and are being replicated and parodied in numerous places across the internet.
Also in AXIS: a very interesting series of articles on the future of cars. And on cars of the future. Cars accelerate the imagination, says the magazine and proves this with weird things on wheels, like Nissans BladeGlider (below).
