Domus: Cappella Granato and more

In Domus: Cappella Granato, in Austria.

Situated in Austria’s Zillertal, 2.000 meters above sea level, is this small chapel. Shaped as a rhombic dodecahedron, resting on a concrete base, the new chapel has a wooden structure enforced with Corten steel on the outside. From the base a small staircase leads into the geometric wooden interior. The chapel overlooks an artificial lake used for forming artificial snow for the ski slopes.

More than 140 rich pages of architecture in January’s Domus. Intellectual and inspirational!
