AR: Dame Zaha Hadid in Baku

Main feature in the newest issue of AR, The Architectural Review:

Zaha Hadid Architects has completed the Heydar Aliyev Centre in Baku, Azerbaijan – a cultural centre with undulating wall surfaces and windows and entrances slotted into openings between different volumes. It is situated in Baku, capital of Azerbaijan, not exactly the place you would associate with groundbreaking architecture. However, the constant flow of oil dollars makes that this culturally yet unknown country can afford one the world’s most famous architects, the British-Iraqi Dame Zaha Hadid.
