Form has new forms
German design magazine Form – from 1957 – silently changes its form.
The 250th issue of Form means transformation for this German magazine that has been in the market for more than half a century now. Like so many other magazines Form adapts to a changing ‘Umwelt’: the digital era. “Magazines can be seen as merely a visible embodiment of increasingly complex data’, Form states, ‘and are increasingly taking on the function of Big Signs in the age of Big Data.’
The new Form is a clear sign, for sure. But you would expect that it would spend some more words on its own new form: how is the editorial formula changed, who redesigned the magazine, what choices have been made and what typo is used now.
