032c: Rihanna by Inez & Vinoodh
032c, the Berlin based art, design and lifestyle magazine combines Rihanna and Picasso.
More than 20 pages Rihanna in the new 032c, shot by Dutch photo duo Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. The fashion shoot with this dark pop idol is what you may expect of these photographers of the stars: sexiness, arrogance, street style and sheer beauty combined. And that in fantastic clothes by fashion icons like Ann de Meulmeester, Gucci, Miu Miu, Jean Paul Gaultier and rough jewelry by Trash and Vaudeville and Lynn Ban.
Preceding this celebration of classy pop culture is a 25-page dossier on Pablo Picasso, the famed painter who’s work was embraced by the Germans about a century ago, with exhibitions in Munich, Cologne, Stuttgart, Dresden and Berlin. With an interview with 89-year-old Picasso biographer Sir John Richardson, who shares fond memories: ‘We had garden parties after every bullfight, invited gypsies to play music, and danced under the stars. Back then the star bullfighter was accompanied by a midget. And Picasso loved dancing with this midget’.
