Blueprint (30!) & Arad’s squashed Fiats

Blueprint Magazine is 30 years young and celebrates this with a vibrant issue.

In Blueprint: work of the famed architect and designer Ron Arad, the creator of the Israel’s Design Museum Holon, which opened in March 2010. But Arad does more than design buildings. He has also become renowned for his work in metal and has given up his workshop to collaborate with manufacturers and fabricators, allowing him to innovate with new alloys and advanced techniques.

The technique he uses for his current exhibition in the Holon Design Museum is not complicated at all: a series of squashed Fiat 500s now colours the walls of the museum. In Pressed Flower Blue, Yellow, Rust and Red.
