Sponsored by Novum: Atypi 13, Amsterdam

This annual event for typophiles –  ATypi – is taking place in Amsterdam, from 9  – 13 October. Type designers, type publishers, graphic designers and printers will convene and do business . More than 70 speakers will tell you their opinion on typedesign and its future.

The conference programme too reflects a diversity of ideas, not only delving into the history of type and typography in the world’s languages but grappling with the problems and opportunities of the constantly evolving technology of communication. British design critic Alice Rawsthorn and Dutch designer Petr van Blokland were chosen as as keynote speakers.

The first two days of the conference are devoted to two tracks of programming, with close focus on specific techniques and ideas, plus workshops; the final three days have a single track with a wide-ranging span of design subjects. And of course all days there are evening events in this full five-day programme.
