Form Magazine: Post Genre Fashion and Design

Form is on fashion this month.

For a reason: no design gets closer than clothing, says editor-in-chief Stephan Ott. It does not only protect us from the elements, it is also a means of communication, for expressing your position and ambition in life. Form follows function – and emotion. Fashion and design have always had close ties that go beyond fashion design itself – photography, shop design, publishing and online platforms are influenced by fashion. And with its style defining power, fashion acts as a model for all other design disciplines – good fashion changes the world. It seems that Ott sees fashion as mother of all design, at least: in this issue.

That is reflected by the topics and interviews. In this Form you will meet fashion theorists Mahret Kupka and Susanna Legrenzi, fashion platform Not Just A Label, photographers Gerhardt Kellermann and Ana Relvao and fashion professor Frederike von Wedel – Parlow and may others, gathered round the theme ‘Post Genre Fashion and Design’
