LFI Magazine: Holy men, Kurdistan and heart matters
LFI, Leica Fotografie International.
Asceticism and meditation are their life, enlightenment is their goal: the Hindu Holy Men. An unusual portrait series on Hindu beggar monks is published in LFI. Work by Manuel Uebler, who works as a commercial photographer for magazines as Vogue, Glamour, Cream and InStyle Magazine. His non commissioned work shows the spiritual side of him. His next project takes him to a Geisha school in Japan.
Further in LFI:
Daniel Power on the future of the New York Photo Festival – Guillem Valle: Dreams of Utopia: Kurdish people fighting for autonomy – When his daughter was born with a heart defect, Christian Wyss hardly dared hope that documenting her life would turn into a long-term project. – Feature: Hello, Mr. President. John F. Kennedy’s visit to Germany in 1963 resembled a triumphal victory parade, sparking off a media frenzy. Ulrich Mack reported from the front row. – Reportage: After the Storm. French forces quickly put an end to the conflicts in Mali – but it seems like the African country is still rather a long way from achieving peace. – Leica Classics: Inge Morath, second female member of the Magnum agency, was driven by her curiosity for foreign cultures.
