Domus: Architecture of Adrenalin

 

Of course architecture can be sensational. But few constructions are designed to be sensational and nothing else. Domus, leading architecture magazine, turns its eye at just those constructions in its January issue with a feature on roller-coaster architecture. It is a fast growing industry with rapid developments in Asia, particularly in China: sophisticated architectures, designed to let people experience and overcome extreme speed sensations. State of the art roller-coasters now offer spectacular sequences of hyperboles, parabolas, sinusoids and helicoids that seem to float magically in midair. Domus in the world of speed, fear and G-forces.
