Out now: Idea 356
Of course it would help if you could understand some Japanese, but even if you don’t Idea 356 – international graphic art and typography magazine – is very much worth reading. First of all because of the special on letterings, logotypes and new typefaces in the 60s & 70s in Japan (though this is a bit specialistic for the average westerner, more so because the editorial explanations are in Japanese as well).
But Idea is also celebrating 20 issues of Fuse, the ground-breaking typography magazine and a playground for letter designers. Taking the alphabet as its base, and enabled by the advent of digital design, FUSE became a laboratory for new ideas and risks, as well as a hothouse of new thinking.
